Philosophy & Vision
I work from a premise that the client is the expert of their own life and I am here to provide a safe and empathetic space where clients can explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. My aim is to also empower clients in their journey towards self-discovery, personal growth, and mental well-being.
Background
This is my second career, one that I reflected on for years, volunteered in, took years of training and then chose to pursue as a career. My first career was in IT as an Analyst and I am able to bring a lot of that critical thinking, patience, observation & listening skills in to my mental health practice.
As a mental health practitioner, my approach has assisted in providing clients with a well-rounded therapeutic experience that addresses both the symptoms and underlying causes of their distress. It allows for increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, enhanced interpersonal relationships, and a greater sense of purpose and meaning in life. It's important to note that these approaches will vary based on the individual need

I was drawn to a career in psychotherapy/counseling due to a deep passion for helping others navigate their mental and emotional challenges. This was inspired from personal experiences with therapy that inspire me to pay it forward. Another motivating factor was a desire to understand and address the complexities of the human mind. I come across as an empathetic person with strong listening skills, and a genuine interest in human behavior hence I naturally gravitated towards this profession. Additionally, this field offers the opportunity for personal and professional growth, as well as the satisfaction of making a positive impact on individuals' lives.

As a mental health practitioner, I use a humanistic and integrative approach in providing services to clients, with a well-rounded therapeutic experience that addresses both the symptoms and underlying causes of their distress. I work from a premise that the clients is the expert of their own life and it helps allow for increased self-awareness, improved emotional regulation, enhanced interpersonal relationships, and a greater sense of purpose and meaning in life. It's important to note that the specific techniques and balance between these approaches will vary based on the individual client's needs.
