Philosophy & Vision
Hi, I’m Gidon, a qualified counsellor with a passion for working alongside young people and adults navigating challenges related to mental health, substance use, and life transitions. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey.
I believe therapy is a space where growth and healing begin with understanding. I work with my clients to explore their strengths, unpack the impact of past experiences, and develop tools for managing present challenges. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space for you to move towards the life you envision.
Therapy isn’t about fixing—it’s about fostering resilience, growth, and clarity. Together, we’ll work to empower you with the skills and insights to take meaningful steps forward.
If you’re ready to start your journey or have questions about what therapy could look like for you, I’d love to connect.
Services
I offer walk-and-talk therapy exclusively, as this relaxed, dynamic approach can encourage self-expression and deepen reflection in a natural setting. With extensive experience supporting at-risk young people through organisational work within a youth-focused setting, I bring a trauma-informed and holistic perspective to my practice.
I specialise in supporting teenagers, young adults, and young people navigating challenges such as anxiety, parental separation, addiction, anger, and the intensity of teenage angst. My calming presence and empathetic approach help create a safe space for clients to explore their emotions and develop resilience.
Quality Provision
I understand the importance of finding the right counsellor. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss therapeutic needs and can consult with family members to ensure the best support for the young person. I also provide walk-and-talk sessions in safe, public spaces such as Centennial Park, Cooper Park or a convenient place of your choosing. My experience prioritises the safety, well-being, and goals of each client, ensuring a trauma-informed and tailored approach to therapy.

I struggled to find genuine joy or meaning in my customer service roles, feeling stifled by the conglomerate of industries. Transitioning to human services filled me with confidence and purpose, as I realised my passion for supporting others.
-
I’m deeply influenced by humanistic approaches, particularly the concept of being present in the here and now. This has drawn me toward Gestalt therapy, which emphasises mindfulness and authentic connection.
-
I’m fascinated by mental growth and the pursuit of well-being, helping people unlock their potential, discover resilience, and find balance in their lives.
-
I incorporate CBT, DBT, ACT, person-centred therapy, and motivational interviewing to tailor my approach to each client’s unique needs.
Additionally, when appropriate I incorporate experiential practices to foster deeper self awareness. -
Progress is happening constantly, even if it’s just showing up to therapy. That act alone is transformative. When clients feel progress, it can happen at any time—a sudden realisation or a gradual shift in perspective. It’s deeply personal and unique to their journey.
-
Through therapy, I’ve experienced personal growth and greater self-awareness. Having someone to reflect my thoughts back to me has been grounding and has helped me find clarity, peace, and happiness.
-
The greatest honour is being invited into someone’s story and having the privilege of guiding them through their journey. It’s incredibly rewarding to witness their growth and resilience.
-
As a bald person, hair isn’t much of a concern! However, I stay grounded on tough days through routines and by connecting with my family, which keeps me aligned and focused.
-
I believe the struggle to find our genuine, congruent voice is a major challenge. If more people could embrace their authentic selves, grounded in peace and love, the world would be a far better place.

One event that deeply inspires me is the 2005 UEFA Champions League Final in Istanbul, where my favourite football team, Liverpool FC, faced AC Milan. By half-time, Liverpool were down 3-0—a scoreline that almost always means certain defeat. Yet, against all odds, they fought back. With sheer determination and belief, they scored three goals in the second half, forcing a 3-3 draw at full-time. In the penalty shootout, they triumphed, securing one of the most incredible victories in sporting history (for me at least).
This event taught me an important lesson: no matter how insurmountable a challenge might seem, resilience and perseverance can lead to extraordinary outcomes. It’s a reminder that even when we feel beaten and out of options, there’s always a chance to rise again. That match isn’t just a sporting memory for me—it’s a powerful metaphor for hope and the courage to keep pushing forward.
