Philosophy & Vision
I have had a lifelong passion for greater awareness, and self-expansion, reading a book by June Singer titled Androgyny, in my late teens. She was a Jungian Analyst, and the explanation of feminine (soul) and masculine (mind) qualities existing in all of us, coming into balance, made sense to me even then.
Yet, like anything, it is always, all-ways, more meaningful when we have the experience and embodiment, ourselves.
I believe therapy provides a space for us to access our internal world, without the noise of others opinions or perspectives. Leading us, if we are willing, to face that which is unhealed, accept ourselves and inevitably lead us towards taking more responsibility for our lives.
I work with clients who are ready for change. The issue may be addiction, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, anxiety. In addition to individual counselling sessions, I also run a codependency group.
Background
I have a varied work life, having worked in hospitality, the printing industry, promotional advertising, massage, I even worked at a ghost tour company for a short bit whilst I contemplated the next phase of my life, after returning from NZ.
During my Masters studies I had the opportunity to work in a private rehab specialising in all addictions, and where I learnt much about the imbalances of the heart and mind and the painful way they manifest. I then began private practice, whilst also working part-time at a women's rehab.

A conversation with Xanthe Katsouras
-
It felt right, and I love the realness of conversations when people are going through change, and seeing them blossom into who they really are, doing things they never thought possible.
-
Even though I have been influenced most by Carl Jung's philosophy, the majority, if not all of my reading of his philosophy has come through female Jungian Analysts. This has allowed a natural and organic understanding of the interconnectedness of the body, heart, mind and soul with life, regardless of whether we are conscious of it or not.
-
The movement towards wholeness.
-
The methods I use are dependent on the client I am working with, most importantly, Listening. I encourage meditation, journal writing, and practical things, that allow for a more conscious relationship with their body.
-
When they feel differently about things, and are able to act on those feelings.
-
It allowed me to start to process things in an entirely different way, something that I could never have accomplished simply from talking to friends. It changed the relationship I had with myself, and others, leading me to making changes I could not have imagined before.
-
I love seeing people change and become more anchored in themselves.
-
Of course and I am very good at taking care of myself on those days.
-
In this moment, a lack of connection to self in a meaningful way. Many people don't really love or have a very good sense of who they are, so they are over anchored to beliefs, and opinions.
-
Too many, to mention but most recently, the peanut butter falcon movie, the book Red, Hot & Holy by Sera Beak.
