Philosophy & Vision
My philosophy is within us lies everything we need, for healing, for change, and we have simply forgotten, through conditioning, and other factors. Our emotions are often the signal inviting us to turn inwards, showing up as anxiety, fear, in our lifelong habit of turning away from ourself.
I believe therapy provides an invitation to turn inwards, to develop a relationship with our internal world, connecting with the different parts of us (soul, heart, body). We can begin to get out of the habit of being externally focused, trying to control others, and discover the true power inside.
It is choosing again and again and it takes time, and effort, like everything else. We are all part of many systems, from family, to societal, that often have contributed to our conditioned responses. There are no quick fixes, yet the rewards are worth the it.
Background
I have had a varied work life, yet the majority of it has been working directly with people, through hospitality, the printing industry, promotional advertising, massage, I even worked at a ghost tour company for a short while.
During my Masters studies I had the opportunity to work in a private rehab specialising in all addictions, where I learnt much about the imbalances of the heart and mind, and the painful way they manifest. I then began private practice, whilst also working part-time at a women's rehab. I am now fully in private practice, enjoying working with a diversity of people, individually and in groups.

Initially I believe I chose this field because I wanted to understand myself deeply, that psychology bend was there from a young age. Yet, it would be over 30years after starting my degree before I would complete my studies and become a therapist. This indirect, circuitous route served me well, in many ways, most importantly in understanding myself better, I am able to provide more space for others to know themselves.
-
Even though I have been influenced most by Carl Jung's philosophy, the majority, if not all of my reading of his philosophy has come through female Jungian Analysts. This has allowed a natural and organic understanding of the interconnectedness of the body, heart, mind and soul with all life.

The movement towards wholeness.
-
The methods I use are dependent on the client I am working with, most importantly, Listening. I encourage meditation, journal writing, and practical tools, that allow for a more conscious relationship between the different parts of self.
-
When they feel differently about things in their life, and are able to act on their own behalf more consistently and affectively.
-
It allowed me to start to process things in an entirely different way, something that I could never have accomplished simply by talking to friends. It changed the relationship I had with myself, and others, giving me the confidence to make changes I could not have imagined before.

I love seeing people become more anchored in themselves, able to experience more contentment, and agency.
-
Of course and I am very good at taking care of myself on those days.
-
At this time, a lack of a true connection to self. Many struggle with their identity, so they are over anchored to beliefs, and external opinions. When we have reverence for self, we have reverence for all life.

Too many, to mention but most recently, The Peanut Butter Falcon (movie), the book Red, Hot & Holy by Sera Beak, another book, The Love Song of the Universe. Song that I currently love every time I hear it on my playlist is Ordinary by Alex Warren.
