Philosophy & Vision
When facing personal crisis, isolation, grief, trauma, relationship stresses or mental health struggles, we all need trust, hope, and empathy.
My aim is to gently and with compassion establish a secure therapeutic relationship with clients and to provide a safe space for them to build self-esteem, acceptance, and motivation to grow out of addiction, depression, anxiety, and relationship difficulties.
Background
Having over 20 years' experience as a psychotherapist/counsellor and group therapist, initially at St Vincent de Paul, Relationships Australia, and now in private practice, I have gained considerable clinical skills and bring a wealth of personal and life experience to my work.
Services
I am a PACFA accredited clinical supervisor with over 7 years' experience in providing clinical supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists, and group therapists. I am especially passionate about the power of group psychotherapy in facilitating personal growth and deep healing. My group therapy program continues to support many people on their respective journeys. Since 2014 I have been running interpersonal process groups for practitioners.
Quality Provision
I am commited to undertake for myself ongoing personal and professional development and clinical supervision. For over 20 years I have participated in my mens group, and with my wife in our established couples/peer group. When I have needed it I seek therapy for myself.

Therapy Approach
Group Therapy
In a 'safe enough' group therapy environment where free flowing interaction is encouraged, members begin to display interpersonal behaviour in ways that mirror how they relate to others in their lives. Through compassionate exploration, feedback and reflection of this behaviour members can build self-esteem and address their problems.
