Philosophy & Vision
It can be hard to consider coming to therapy… You might be experiencing chronic pain or recurring physical symptoms. Perhaps you are exhausted and you feel like you have already tried everything. Maybe you are worried or overwhelmed by the relationships in your life. You could be trying to understand how experiences in your life are impacting your sense of self, but need more support in this process... These are all good reasons to reach out, and there are many more.
Background
I have an educational and professional background in fine arts. I continue to engage in an art practice alongside my work as therapist. I am passionate about working with and supporting personal expression and creativity as it arises in authentic self expression.
I am a qualified yoga teacher and have over a decade of experience in practicing and teaching. My experience in working with the body and knowledge of the ways in which 'the body keeps the score' informs my practice as a psychotherapist.
I currently only provide talk therapy, however I believe movement, breath work and talk therapy can work together very well. I can direct you towards resources for support in these other areas.
Services
In practice, this process looks different for each person. Sessions are 50 minutes long. Timing, frequency of sessions (fortnightly, weekly or 2-3 times per week) and length of treatment are discussed and agreed upon during an initial assessment. This assessment will take place over 2-3 appointments. During this time we will reach a mutual agreement to begin therapy or referral to a different clinician or more appropriate type of treatment may be made.

Therapy Approach
Psychodynamic psychotherapy is a method of verbal communication used to help a person find relief from emotional pain. It is based on the theories and techniques of psychoanalysis, in that it attributes emotional problems to the patients unconscious motives and
conflicts.
The way I work places great emphasis on feeling safe in the therapeutic relationship. I seek to offer gentle curiosity and a non judgmental space for your authentic self expression. Working in this way aims to help you understand how your current feelings and behaviour might be shaped by your early life, past experiences and unconscious patterns or cycles.
