Philosophy & Vision
I often think of psychotherapy as a journey of self discovery in company. Within the safety of a reliable relationship we explore unknown and sometimes frightening territories of the mind. Travelling together provides a mirror for our strengths and challenges fears so that we build up our confidence and learn to be more self-aware and self-accepting. The distance we travel and the landscapes we explore are personal choices that are determined by our internal and external resources.
Background
I have worked for almost 30 years in a range of treatment settings such as a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility, a therapy centre for women, a community centre for families and as a service coordinator. I held several teaching positions with the College of Applied Psychology and as a external supervisor for the Queensland University of Technology.
I established my private practice in 2007.
