Philosophy & Vision
I am an Anxiety Specialist. I call anxiety the Internalised Bully. Countless clients have said that's it when I demystify what is happening to them.
I have over 20 years' experience working with people on challenges that we all face in day-to-day life. By creating a safe, non-judgemental environment, I will help you explore difficulties that stress you out or get you down. I am passionate about helping people heal from anxiety, the internalised bully that we have inside our own heads. In my practice I come across a huge range of different issues, but feeling anxious is so often the biggest obstacle we face in creating a good life for ourselves.
Background
I completed my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Humanities and Psychology at the University of Western Sydney in 1998. I received my Master of Arts in Critical Psychology from UWS in 1999, and my Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Psychology from Macquarie University in 2002.
I work in my private practice, Counselling in Conversation, in the Sydney suburb of Crows Nest. I also attend critical incidents, provide stress management interventions, and provide sessional counselling through the Employee Access Program.
I have prepared and co-facilitated workshops on trauma and loss, and navigating difficult situations. I also attend supervision with colleagues who practise Narrative Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Therapy Approach
- My Narrative Therapy approach is based on connecting you with your history, hopes, values and commitments. It is so easy to lose sight of what really matters, but re-focusing on your own core values can help show a path forward to a meaningful and enjoyable life.
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a set of tools to make your internal life more user-friendly. By re-framing unhelpful thoughts, you can develop more control over your own actions and free yourself from behaviours that don't help you.
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy is a way of learning to deal with whatever life throws at us, especially difficult things. It helps build resilience and overcome avoidance and procrastination.
