Philosophy & Vision
Dr Hyman is a neuropsychologist and the director of a centre dedicated to helping children with learning, attention or other cognitive problems achieve their highest potential. Her areas of specialty include genetic disorders, head injury, epilepsy, brain tumours, autism/Asperger's disorder, ADHD and learning disabilities. She conducts neuropsychological assessments and offers comprehensive therapy programs for a wide range of cognitive problems. She also runs an ADHD 7-step treatment program.
Background
She worked for 9 years in 3 different children's hospitals, both in Australia and overseas, spending the majority of this time at the Children's Hospital at Westmead. since returning to Australia she has been running the Sydney Cognitive Development Centre.

Dr Hyman offers the following types of assessment: preschool school readiness assessment, neuropsychological assessment & psychoeducational assessment. Her therapy services include the ADHD 7-Step Treatment Program, social skills training, computerised cognitive training (for memory, perceptual, planning & problem solving difficulties) & neurofeedback. She also offers behavioural management programs for parents and teachers of children with behavioural issues.

Therapy Approach
She is very goal oriented. Once any speciifc cognitive disorders are diagnosed and functional problems (at home and at school) have been correctly identified, she then works directly with the parent, child and schools to manage and remediate the impact of any cognitive problems on everyday functioning.
