Therapy Approach
I take an integrated, holistic and strengths-based approach when working with individuals, and use a variety of client-centred and evidence based therapies.
The main approach I use when working with couples is the Gottman Method of Couples Therapy. It is evidence-based and is suitable for couples of all cultures and sexual orientations. It includes practical and actionable strategies for couples to improve their relationship.
I am also passionate about providing culturally sensitive therapy. Before becoming a counsellor, I studied Japanese language and culture, and worked in Japan for a few years as an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher. As an ESL teacher in Brisbane, I worked with people from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including with refugees.
