Philosophy & Vision
I empower people to discover their own voice and strength to lead a fulfilling life. I provide person-centered therapy. I respect whom my clients are today and work with them and their strengths to create lasting positive change. I do not tell people what they should be doing. I provide services to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
Background
My therapeutic orientation is an humanistic approach where it uses a non-authoritative approach that allows you to discover your own solutions. I will act as a compassionate facilitator, listening without judgement and acknowledging the experience without "advice giving', and no quick fixes techniques.
Sarah received a Bachelor of Music Degree from London College of Music. She was a teacher for 12 years and has experience with working children and teens. Sarah received a Master of Arts(MA) degree in Marriage, Child and Family Therapy from City University of Seattle, USA. Since I was a little girl I have always been the person that people would confide in. When I started teaching music at the age of 16 my students would often talk to me about difficulties at home or school. This inspired me years later to complete a Master of Arts in Counselling, specialising in marriage, children, and families. Since then I have enjoyed helping people discover their strengths to lead contented and fulfilling lives.

Person centred Counselling, and Child Centred Play Therapy. Trusting the therapeutic process, and empowering people in their own journey of growth.
-
I love the "working phase" of therapy, where clients are doing the work, and they are starting to make sense of their story.
-
Provide a safe unconditional non-judgement space. I enjoy using art and sand to help people process their unconscious feelings.
-
Perhaps after the working phase, and they start the mastery stage, where they start implementing strategies into their everyday life and relationships.
-
Having my own personal therapy has helped me with my own patterns of relationship. Being a therapist helps me to be a better mother, as I have learnt to be stronger, wiser and kind. Providing psycho education about dysregulation to people helps me understand my own dys-regulation patterns.
-
Listening to the stories, and helping clients make sense of their own story.
-
Absolutely! i am not a perfect therapist, and I am human too!
-
Secure attachments, and difficulties in relationships, as people are more distracted these days by TV and mobile phones. There is a lack of connection within the family home.
