Philosophy & Vision
In life most people encounter emotional experiences, positive and negative. Coming to terms with these events may be difficult. The cause of our feelings may be linked to any number of experiences in our day-to-day life and the distress can manifest in various ways. When these experiences become overwhelming, I will provide confidential and non-judgemental support to help work through issues in an effort to gain back control and improve general wellbeing.
Background
I am a practising psychologist and have been counselling for twenty-five years. As well as conducting a private practice during this period, I have worked within a number of community settings including the Smith Family (as a welfare worker), Family Drug Support (providing phone support), and the former Department of Community Services (as a child protection caseworker).
Services
I am able to assist those:
Having difficulty controlling their emotions, thoughts and behaviour
Experiencing anxiety and/or depression
Working through grief and loss
Dealing with addictive behaviours
Adjusting to life changes
Parenting children/adolescents with challenging behaviour
Quality Provision
Psychologists are legally required to be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). This means that a registered psychologist must be competent and follow a strict Code of Conduct. Seeing a registered psychologist ensures that you receive high quality ethical treatment.
