Philosophy & Vision
I am passionate about empowering my clients to build the skills they need to create a life worth living in an environment that is empathetic, non-judgemental, warm, and, where appropriate, light-hearted. I have personally experienced the transformative power of counselling in my own life and those close to me. I understand first-hand the depth of the experiences that my clients go through, and I know how challenging this journey can be when faced alone.
Background
With a BA in Psychology and a GD in Relationship Counselling, I have had over 8 years of disability client experience and 2 years of dedicated counselling experience. Throughout these years, I have had the pleasure of supporting people of different ages, ranging from 5 - 80 years old. I have also had experience supporting clients with their relationships, families, disabilities and children, as well as through a range of issues, including conflict, communication challenges, alcohol substance abuse, depression, anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and many more.
Alongside this, I dedicate a portion of my time volunteering as a counsellor with couples, children, and families. My specialisations include couples counselling, family therapy, and children.
Services
As someone who has personally navigated the complexities of relationships, I understand how tough they can be. I've battled with insecurities, wrestled with anxiety, struggled to communicate my needs, and navigated through the complex world of family life. But through it all, I've grown. Understanding my emotions and working through my issues in a safe space brought me a peace I had never known. This is the same gift I'd like to offer my clients through my professional service.
Quality Provision
As a Registered Counsellor with the ACA (Australian Counselling Association), I am required to fulfil ongoing professional development and peer supervision requirements.
