Philosophy & Vision
As a therapist, my heartfelt wish is to support you to reconnect with your own inner wisdom and help you come home to the rich abundance of who you are.
Drawing on experiential and person-centred psychotherapy, as well as Buddhist and Taoist traditions, my approach is integral and responsive to whatever is unfolding in the moment. I provide a safe, nurturing space for exploring and understanding the impact of experiences such as anxiety, trauma, illness, life-transitions or a search for meaning.
Background
As a therapist who is deeply interested in what it means to live fully, I recognise the interconnection of physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual factors in enhancing health and wellbeing. I offer a therapeutic relationship and heart-space that mindfully recognises and brings compassion to all parts of your being.
"We are here to awaken to the true nature of our own souls and the gifts we have to give to the world. (Michael Meade).
I have more than 25 years' experience working in the field of mental health including recovery focused psychological / social support, palliative care and education. Areas of study include Clinical Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, and Hakomi Integrative Psychology.
Services
With offices located in Lismore NSW, I work with adults who seek support in a diverse range of areas. This may include fostering creativity and self development; navigating life transitions, such as adjustment to illness, injury or disability; or facilitating recovery from anxiety, depression and trauma.
An area of particular interest is support for people with High Sensitivity: the 20% of the population who process information deeply and have additional sensitivity to emotional and environmental stimuli. Therapy is a helpful way for people with high sensitivity to honour their unique gifts and integrate any particularly challenging experiences of the world.
