Philosophy & Vision
What I believe in is very simple. Most of us do better in healthy secure relationships.
Part of my job is to help you find your way there.
Background
Melissa Ferrari is one of Australia's most sought-after therapists. With over 25 years' experience in couples counselling and individual psychotherapy, she is regularly called upon as a relationship expert across national media.
Known for her warmth and engaging personality, Melissa’s ability to identify and help people work through many of the key issues facing couples today has had a profound and transformative effect on many of her clients’ lives. She has helped thousands of individuals and couples gain insight into their relationship problems, resolve ongoing conflict, re-create sexual connection and work towards maintaining and developing a secure functioning relationship.
Services
Individual Adult Psychotherapy
Couples Therapy
Counselling for Individuals and Couples
One Day Couple Intensives
Three Day Couple Intensives
Through private sessions (individually or as a couple) as well as through couple intensives, Melissa has created her own programme to help couples decipher behaviour patterns within their relationship that will help them to move towards love, intimacy, connection and happiness. Melissa believes that change happens in people when more unconscious dynamics are understood and worked through. The importance of understanding relational trauma is central to long term change and this is an area Melissa specialises in.
Melissa’s passion also lies in her work as a clinical psychotherapist. With the influence of relational theorists and psychodynamic approaches she works with individuals in long-term psychotherapy and self-analysis.
Quality Provision
Working both professionally and ethically is an important requirement in effective psychotherapy relationships. I am in consistent supervision and learning environments that help me reflect on the quality of work I am doing with my clients. I update my training on an ongoing basis and am always receptive to new, more beneficial ways to practice.
