Philosophy & Vision
I believe that there is an innate wisdom in all of us which may be hard to access when we are under stress, or have a lot going on. My role as therapist/counsellor is to support you to gain perspective on what's happening in your life and access your own inner knowing.
My intention is to hold a safe and compassionate space where you are supported to develop solutions to whatever brings you to counselling, and more importantly to reflect, heal and grow. I hold a space for the whole person, mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually, who they are and how they see the world.

* A deep passion and desire to support people to live the life they want for themselves.
* Being able to sit with a therapist when I have experienced my own emotional pain, trauma, grief and loss and feeling safe to tell my story and support to find my way. -
Existential philosophy
Spirituality -
* Relationship - firstly with ourselves and then with others. As human beings we are constantly in/out of relationship with ourselves and others.
* Grief & loss - in all its forms, the loss pf people, beloved pets, relationships, jobs/careers/identity, hopes and dreams (fertility, infertility, childlessness) and the impact this has on who we are and how we see ourselves and our lives.
* Childlessness - particularly when it is by circumstances out of one's control and acknowledging the impact this can have on one's identity, relationships, purpose and direction in life.
* Self-identity - all questions which may lead us to ask 'who am I, what is my life about, what am I doing with my life?'. -
Besides talking and listening, I use a range of methods (Focusing, drawing, picture cards, walking) depending on how the person likes to work and what makes sense for them.
-
It very much depends on what brings the person to counselling. Clients often report relief from the first session simply by being able to connect with someone and tell their story. Beyond that it depends on the person and what we are working on.
-
* Improved my connection with myself, including boundaries, purpose, healing my personal wounds and traumas
* Improved my relationships, communication and connection with others
and lots more....... -
Sitting with and holding space for another human being and supporting them to reflect, heal grow and ultimately transform their life.

You bet! My approach is to be real and as authentically present as I can be.

Disconnection from each other brought about by fear and difficulty communicating how we really feel and listening and understanding where others are coming from.
