Philosophy & Vision
I am dedicated to social justice, mental and sexual health, gender issues and sexuality education. Armed with cultural awareness and respect, I am comfortable with and good at communicating safety to clients, in opening up what may be difficult conversations about sexuality, abuse, gender inequality, or any personal struggles.
My clinical approach is trauma informed, client centred and gestalt oriented. I am empathic, warm, full of fortitude, and capable of great gentleness. I enjoy working closely with my clients to reach their therapeutic goals.
Background
I have had a few career changes within the decades of my professional life. Started from being a high school teacher, then performing artist, I moved on to work in the business world. I worked in the corporate world for over ten years. No matter how successful I was, I always felt something was missing and that was not where I belonged.
My cancer diagnosis sixteen years ago was a turning point that landed me as a counsellor and sexologist.
For more than six years, I had worked for a domestic violence refuge; an educational college; gambling, drug & alcohol counselling services at NSW Health; and mental health solution for Medibank. I have also been running my private practice for more than three years now. My passion is to help people.
Services
I specialise in personal development, attachment, trauma recovery, anxiety, depression or mental health issues, and psychosexual therapy for individuals or couples. Each person is the expert of their own life, and my role is to facilitate and inspire hope and confidence in their capacity to heal or change.
Quality Provision
I am registered with Australia Counselling Association (ACA), as well as The Australian Society of Sex Educators, Researchers and Therapists (ASSERT NSW) and therefore, abide by their code of Ethics and Practice.
