I chose social work and counselling because I’m passionate about making a difference in people’s lives. From a young age, I was drawn to helping others and advocating for those facing challenges. Social work allows me to combine my skills, empathy, and dedication to support individuals and families in overcoming obstacles, building resilience, and finding hope. It’s more than a career for me—it’s a calling to create positive, lasting change.

My professional development as a social worker has been deeply influenced by strengths-based, humanistic, and person-centered approaches. I believe in seeing each individual beyond their challenges, valuing their unique experiences, and fostering their innate potential. Anti-oppressive and inclusive philosophies guide my work, ensuring I empower clients in a supportive and respectful environment, helping them to find their path to growth, connection, and well-being.

I am deeply interested in the human journey, particularly in how people overcome adversity and find resilience. I’m passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges, whether it's trauma, disability, or relationship struggles. I love exploring therapeutic communication and creative approaches to help clients unlock their strengths, improve their well-being, and build meaningful connections. Seeing people grow, heal, and thrive is what drives my work every day.

As a therapeutic social worker, I use a blend of creative and evidence-based methods tailored to each client’s unique needs. My approach includes therapeutic communication, creative techniques, and strengths-based, person-centered practices. I focus on empowering clients, enhancing their skills, and fostering resilience. Whether through one-on-one sessions, family work, or group support, my goal is to create a safe, inclusive space where growth and positive change can flourish.

Every client’s journey is unique, but many begin to feel progress when we start working together on their goals. Often, this happens when they notice small, positive changes—like feeling more understood, communicating more effectively, or gaining new insights about themselves. Progress can also be felt in those “lightbulb moments” where things start to click. My approach focuses on achievable steps and steady improvements, so you’ll likely feel the impact as we work through challenges together, building confidence and momentum along the way.

Therapy has been transformative in my life, helping me navigate my own challenges and gain a deeper understanding of myself and others. It’s taught me the power of resilience, self-awareness, and the importance of having a safe space to explore thoughts and feelings. My personal experience with therapy fuels my passion to provide that same supportive environment for others, guiding them toward healing, growth, and positive change. It’s not just about the professional techniques I use; it’s about the genuine belief that therapy can empower anyone to lead a more fulfilling life.

What I love most about being a therapeutic social worker is the privilege of witnessing transformation and growth. I find immense joy in walking alongside my clients as they navigate challenges, discover their strengths, and make positive changes in their lives. Every day, I’m inspired by the resilience and courage of those I work with. Being part of their journey—offering support, encouragement, and a safe space for healing—is incredibly rewarding and drives my passion for this work.

Absolutely—I have “bad hair” days just like everyone else! We all have moments when things feel overwhelming or don’t go as planned. What matters is how we handle those days, and I’m a big believer in self-compassion and finding ways to reset and refocus. I draw on the same strategies I share with my clients: taking a breath, embracing imperfections, and remembering that it’s okay to have off days. It’s all part of being human, and those moments often make us stronger and more relatable.

I believe one of the most significant problems we face today is disconnection—whether it’s from ourselves, others, or our communities. With the pace of modern life, it’s easy to feel isolated, overwhelmed, or misunderstood. This disconnection can impact our mental health, relationships, and overall well-being. My work as a social worker is all about rebuilding those connections—helping people find their voice, build meaningful relationships, and reconnect with their sense of purpose. By fostering understanding, compassion, and a sense of belonging, we can tackle this challenge together.

One book that continually inspires me is *The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse* by Charlie Mackesy. Its simple yet profound messages about kindness, resilience, and the importance of connection beautifully capture the human experience. The gentle wisdom in its words and illustrations reminds me daily of the power of hope, empathy, and staying true to ourselves. It’s a heartwarming reminder of what really matters—and why I do what I do.
