Philosophy & Vision
I provide individual adult psychotherapy and counselling. I take an supportive, empathic, non-judgemental stance. I find it useful to draw on cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic methods in order to tailor treatment to each individual. I typically work with people going through emotional difficulties arising from stressful life experiences such as relationship problems, life transitions, issues in the work place, parenting difficulties and so forth. These stressful life experiences may be from the past, present or both.
In each session, we discuss what ever comes to the client's mind in session. Client's are also encouraged to explore any dreams they might remember either from the recent or distant past.
Background
I have been involved in mental health counselling since my undergraduate years in about 2004. In that time, I have done telephone and crisis counselling, youth work, work with refugees and the homeless. I originally trained to become a psychologist in 2010 through the Psychology Board of Australia Two Year Internship. Since then, I've provided psychological assessment and psychotherapy to people across the lifespan in various community based settings. I have experience treating mood, personality disorders, stressor and trauma related disorders, management of psychotic disorders. I particularly enjoy working with adults experiencing mental ill-health, work place issues, or issues with relationships, parenting, work/career.

Therapy Approach
I try to tailor a unique therapy to each individual. I will look to integrate cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic methods in achieving this.
I will take an empathic, non-judgemental stance. I am open to discussing what ever comes to mind for the client in session. Client's are encouraged to share any dreams they can remember. From there, I will ask questions, make comments to help client's explore at a deeper level to find what psychological and relational issues may be maintaining their difficulties. Once identified, new perspectives and ways of coping can be developed to help client's overcome their emotional issues.
