Philosophy & Vision
As a Clinical Psychologist, I appreciate the responsibility and privilege of being invited to walk alongside, support and guide my patients towards their goals. I will work collaboratively with you and will integrate evidence-based practice with your specific needs to tailor an approach that is most likely to effect lasting change.
Background
After completing my undergraduate Bachelor of Science (Psychology Honours) degree in Boston, USA, I worked in a treatment centre with individuals in recovery. I then completed my postgraduate clinical psychology studies (Doctorate of Clinical Psychology / Masters of Science) at the University of Sydney, and was further trained in addictions and recovery at a residential treatment facility for women. I was trained in Family Therapy and childhood anxiety disorders at the Children's Hospital, Westmead and completed further training at a university Counselling Service, where I broadened my skills by supporting clients to manage a wide range of complex issues. I am also a board-approved supervisor, for peers and clinical psychologist registrars.
Services
I provide individual psychotherapy to adults. I work with patients both within a short-term framework for more straightforward, or recent difficulties and also work longer-term and more intensively with patients for whom difficulties have been present across time and are more complex. I see patients referred by their GP or psychiatrist under Medicare mental health plans, but also see private patients.
Quality Provision
I completed undergraduate and postgraduate university studies in psychology in order to attain my qualifications. I am a member of various professional groups and am registered with AHPRA. I engage in regular clinical supervision as well as professional development to ensure I am providing excellent quality service as a psychologist. I uphold the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality in any work I perform.
