A conversation with Hadass Segal
-
I have always been interested in the human condition and in relationships and how to enhance them.
-
I am eclectic in my approach to therapy, but I am indebted to the work of Irving Yalom, Melanie Klein, Alfred Adler, Bessel van de Kolk, Pat Ogden, Nancy McWilliams and John and Julie Gottmann for my theoretical understanding. I also have a deep interest in de-colonizing psycotherapy and witnessing and learning from the experiences of First Nations People, the LGBTQIA community, the Neurodivergent community and anyone who has been Othered.
-
I am dedicated to the mind-body connection and to integrating our experience somatically.
-
Inner child healing, Gottman and Imago couples therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, somatic approaches, mindfulness, ACT, CBT, relational therapy, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems...
-
When they have a sense of agency and are being encouraged to listen to their own authentic voice.
-
Therapy has helped me better understand and appreciate myself, but also be more accountable and genuine with myself in areas in which I still need to grow and learn.
-
The privilege of truly knowing people and holding space for their growth and healing.
-
I have curly hair and a curly approach to life. Need I say more?
-
Lack of empathy.
-
I am profoundly inspired by artists in all media.
