My Cousin Has Started Doing Drugs.
Question: My cousin is also a close friend of mine and has started doing drugs. He's 19 and I'm a couple of years younger. I don't think its my place to be telling him what to do with his life but it's getting to the stage where he could really mess things up. I want to help, I just don't know how.
Answer: It is often the case that young people listen more to their peers than they do the adults in their lives. It sounds like you are in the perfect position to be able to assist your cousin by at least letting him know that you care about him and will be there to support him. You do not say whether you are still at school or not - the school counsellor or guidance officer may be able to support you and provide you with useful information and resources. I would certainly encourage you to seek the support of another adult and continue to care for your cousin.
