Philosophy & Vision
In my clinical supervision practice, I engage supervisees in the supervision process within a respectful, warm and safe environment. My vision is to help individual practitioners to recognize their unique value, strengths and life purpose, and pursue inspired lives. Being a psychotherapist or counsellor is hard work as well as personally rewarding and enriching. I aim to resource and support practitioners according to need, working to prevent 'Burnout' by promoting a healthy mind and body.
Background
I have over 40 years clinical supervision and counselling experience in a wide range of clinical fields. These include Corrective Services/ Legal System, Community Health, Rehabilitation Counselling, and Community Mental Health, For the past 26 years I have worked as a University Counsellor. Since September, 2003 I have been in full-time private practice.
Services
I provide Clinical Supervision to practitioners looking for expert support and care navigating the complexities of current psychotherapeutic and mental health support work. A Clinical Social Worker and accredited mental health Social Worker, I have many years experience as a clinical supervisor. I have supervised practitioners from many different training backgrounds including Psychologists and ACAP qualified as well as Social Workers. I specialise in helping less experienced counsellors set up and maintain their own successful private practice. An area of speciality is assisting supervisees to avoid or manage compassion fatigue or 'burnout'.
